AIREDALE MALE VOICE CHOIR
History of the choir
New Musical Director and Accompanist needed
Airedale Male Voice Choir are about to celebrate 20 years of high quality music making, forged by the partnership of John Smith, the musical director and Ken Brook, the accompanist. In May, Ken and John will retire together. Under new leadership the choir will continue to delight audiences with its eclectic blend of choral works, from Schubert to Sondheim, from Mozart to McCartney.
The choir is seeking a new musical director and a new accompanist who will build on the success of John and Ken, and will lead the 40 or so members who love to sing and who love to entertain.
The choir is intentionally small but produces a beautiful yet resonant tone, acclaimed by the critics for its musicality, wide dynamic range, and tender tonal qualities. It is in great demand for concerts, particularly in the local area, sending its audiences home feeling better for listening to a concert ranging from the rousing sounds of Nessun Dorma to the poignant message of Myfanwy, selected from an active repertoire of around 100 songs. Over the years they have raised more than £145,000 for various good causes, especially for their favourite charity, the Sue Ryder hospice, Manorlands.
Competent musicians eager to join, lead or accompany a top quality choir should email email@example.com
Our next concert is a return visit to Trinity UR Church, Fell Lane, Keighley on 25th March 2017 starting at 7:30 pm.
